The Most Holy Eucharist

power-of-Holy-Adoration

Tantum Ergo

Down in adoration falling, Lo! the sacred Host we hail, Lo! o'er ancient forms departing Newer rites of grace prevail; Faith for all defects supplying, Where the feeble senses fail.
To the everlasting Father, And the Son Who reigns on high With the Holy Spirit proceeding Forth from each eternally, Be salvation, honor blessing, Might and endless majesty. Amen.

At Thy feet, O my Jesus, I prostrate myself and I offer Thee repentance of my contrite heart, which is humbled in its nothingness and in Thy holy presence. I adore Thee in the Sacrament of Thy love, the ineffable Eucharist. I desire to receive Thee into the poor dwelling that my heart offers Thee. While waiting for the happiness of sacramental communion, I wish to possess Thee in spirit. Come to me, O my Jesus, since I, for my part, am coming to Thee! May Thy love embrace my whole being in life and in death. I believe in Thee, I hope in Thee, I love Thee. Amen.

Offering of the Holy Hour with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament

Eucharist-adoration

My Sweet Jesus, I desire to spend this Hour with Thee, to console Thee, and to make some reparation by the love of my poor heart for the agony Thou didst suffer in Gethsemane. In that lone hour Thou wast forsaken, and the creatures, whom Thou didst create to love Thee, loved Thee not. The weight of all our sins pressed on Thee, and mine as well; and for the sorrow which I caused Thee then by my sins, I will endeavor to repay Thee now by my love. Strengthen it, my Jesus, that it may in some small measure give Thee consolation. Amen.

Holy Hour with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament

sacrament holy eucharist

by: St. Alphonsus Ligouri

My LORD Jesus Christ, Who because of Your love for men remain night and day in the Blessed Sacrament, full of pity and of love, awaiting, calling and welcoming all who come to visit You, I believe that You are present here on the altar. I adore You, and I thank You for all the graces You have bestowed on me, especially for having given me Yourself in this Sacrament, for having given me Your most holy Mother Mary to plead for me, and for having called me to visit You in this church.

I now salute Your most loving Heart, and that for three ends: first, in thanksgiving for this great gift; secondly, to make amends to You for all the outrages committed against You in this Sacrament by Your enemies; thirdly, I intend by this visit to adore You in all the places on earth in which You are present in the Blessed Sacrament and in which You are least honored and most abandoned.

My Jesus, I love You with my whole heart. I am very sorry for having so many times offended Your infinite goodness. With the help of Your grace, I purpose never to offend You again. And now, unworthy though I am, I consecrate myself to You without reserve. I renounce and give entirely to You my will, my affection, my desires and all that I possess. For the future, dispose of me and all I have as You please.

All I ask of You is Your holy love, final perseverance and that I may carry out Your will perfectly. I recommend to You the souls in Purgatory, especially those who had the greatest devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and to the Blessed Virgin Mary. I also recommend to You all poor sinners.

Finally, my dear Saviour, I unite all my desires with the desires of Your most loving Heart; and I offer them, thus united, to the Eternal Father, and beseech Him, in Your name and for love of You, to accept and grant them.

Prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament

Jesus, my God, I bow down in lowliest adoration before You, down to the depths of my utter nothingness, and from that depth I raise my eyes in humble supplication to Your Sacred Heart, imploring Your mercy and forgiveness for my many sins.  Give me grace to spend this hour of loving reparation with all the holy dispositions You desire.  Come into my poor heart Yourself, dear Lord, and work out Your pleasure in it, directing my faculties, sense and powers to Your greater honor and glory.  Would that I might console You for all the wrongs Your loving Heart receives from the ingratitude of men.
Mary, my dearest Mother, and you, O great St. Joseph, lend me all the love of your hearts, and the love of all the angels and saints with which to love my Jesus.  Teach me to pray, to love, to repair, to adore the loving, wronged Heart of Jesus hidden in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar.

Closing Prayer to the Most Blessed Sacrament

Jesus in blessed sacrament

As this hour of adoration closes, O Jesus, I renew my faith and trust in Thee. I am refreshed after these moments with Thee, and I count myself among a privileged number, even as Thy disciples were, who shared Thy actual presence.

Realizing that my visit to Thee is of little avail unless I try to live a better life and set a better example, I am resolved to go forth again to to my duties and my concerns with a renewed spirit of perseverance and good will. In my daily life I will try to love and serve God well, and love my neighbor also, for these two things go together. I will try to be a true disciple, indeed. Help me, O Jesus, in this my resolution.

Bless me, dear Lord, before I go. And bless not me alone, O Lord, but all as well who are here present, and all who could not come and wanted to, especially the sick and the dying. Bless our homes and all the children there. Bless all our life and the hour of our death.

Grant rest to the souls of the Faithful departed, and bring them into the light of Thy divine glory. So may we who have worshipped Thee and been blessed by Thee here on earth, come to behold Thy radiant glory of Thy unveiled countenance in heaven for ever and ever. Amen.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy Kingdom come! (3 times)

Prayer to Our Lady After Each Visit To Jesus in The Blessed Sacrament

Jesus-Eucharist-icon

Most holy Virgin Immaculate, my Mother Mary, it is to you, who are the Mother of my Lord, the Queen of the world, the advocate, the hope and the refuge of sinners, that i have recourse today, I, who most of all am deserving of pity, Most humbly do I offer you my homage, O great Queen, and I thank you for all the graces you have obtained for until now, and particularly for having saved me from Hell, which, by my sins, I have so often deserved.

I love you, O most lovable Lady, and because of my love for you, I promise to serve you always and to do all in my power to win others to love you also. In your hands I place all my hopes; I entrust the salvation of my soul to your care. Accept me as your servant, O Mother of Mercy; receive me under your mantle. And since you have such power with God, deliver me from all temptations, or rather, obtain for me the strength to triumph over them until death. Of you I ask the grace of a perfect love for Jesus Christ. THrough your help I hope to die a happy death. O my Mother, I beg you, by the love you bear to God, to help me at all times, buy especially at the last moment of my life. Do not leave me, I beseech you, until you see me safe in Heaven, blessing you and singing your mercies for all eternity. Amen, so I hope, so may it be.

Prayer Before Holy Communion

O Most sweet Virgin Mary, Mother of God and my Mother, lend me, I beseech thee, thy Immaculate Heart to receive my Jesus, so that I may receive Him by thee, by whom the world received Him. O Jesus, I offer Thee Thy sinless Mother’s Heart, with its perfect dispositions at the moment of thy incarnation, and in all her Communions. Come to me now by her as I come to Thee by her. With her heart, let me receive Thee. O good mother, give me my Jesus. Lend me thy heart and receive Him thyself in me. Adore, love , petition, and thank Him for me. Defend Jesus in me. Make Him live, grow and work in me. O good Mother, extend and strengthen His reign in my heart and in the hearts of all thy children. Amen.

Pange Lingua

St. Padre Pio (7)

Sing, my tongue, the Savior's glory,
Of His flesh the mystery sing;
Of the blood all price exceeding,
Shed by our immortal King.
Destined for the world's redemption.
From a noble womb to spring.
Of a pure and spotless virgin,
Born for us on earth below,
He, as man with man conversing,
Stayed, the seeds of truth to sow;
Then He closed in solemn order
Wondrously His life of woe.
On the night of that last supper,
Seated with His chosen band,
He the paschal victim eating,
First fulfills the law's command;
Then, as food of all His brethren,
Gives Himself with His own hand.
Word made flesh, the bread of nature
By His word to flesh he turns;
Wine into His blood he changes:
What though sense no change discerns?
Only be the heart in earnest,
Faith her lesson quickly learns.

Prayer after Communion By: St. Padre Pio

Padre Pio Receiving Communion

Stay with me Lord, for without your presence I forget You; You know how easily I abandon You. Stay with me Lord, for without Your strength I fall; You know how weak I am. Stay with me Lord. for without You my fervor fails; You are my life. Stay with me Lord, for without You I am in darkness; You are my light. Stay with me Lord that I may stay with You. If you would have me to be faithful, stay with me Lord.

Stay with me Jesus, for though my soul is poor, it desires to be an abode of love for you, a place of consolation. Stay with me Jesus for it is getting late; the day is ending, life is passing; death, judgment, eternity are coming soon. Now I muster all my forces so that I do not faint on the road. I have great need of You on this journey. It is getting late and death is approaching. Darkness, temptations, dryness, crosses and troubles beset me, and Oh, how much I need You, my good Jesus, in this night of exile.

Stay with me Jesus because this night of life is so full of dangers and I have such need of You. Grant that like Your disciples, I may recognize You in the breaking of bread. Grant that the Eucharistic union may be the light which casts out the darkness, the force to sustain me and the one means to sanctity my soul.

Stay with me Lord because when death arrives, if I cannot be really with You in Holy Communion, then I shall wish to remain united with You at least through grace and love. Stay with me Jesus. I do not ask You for divine consolation because I do not deserve it. but I beg of you with all my strength for the gift of Your most holy presence. Stay with me Lord. You alone I seek; Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your Heart, Your Spirit; for I love you. You alone I love. Let me seek no other reward but the increase of that love, that my love may be real and firm and practical. I ask no more than to love you with all my heart on earth and to follow You with all-perfected love for all eternity. Amen.

O Salutaris Host

O Saving Victim opening wide
The gate of heaven to all below.
Our foes press on from every side;
Thine aid supply, Thy strength bestow.
To Thy great name be endless praise
Immortal Godhead, One in Three;
Oh, grant us endless length of days,
In our true native land with Thee. Amen.

Act of Petition

Holy-Eucharist

(By Saint Augustine of Hippo.)

Give me Yourself, O my God,
give Yourself to me.
Behold I love You,
and if my love is too weak a thing,
grant me to love You more strongly.
I cannot measure my love to know how much
it falls short of being sufficient,
but let my soul hasten to Your embrace
and never be turned away until it is hidden
in the secret shelter of Your presence.
This only do I know,
that it is not good for me
when You are not with me,
when You are only outside me.
I want You in my very self.
All the plenty in the world
which is not my God is utter want.
Amen.

I Love You, O God!

by St. John Vianney

St. John Vianny prayer

I love You, O my God,
and my only desire is to love You
until the last breath of my life.

I love You, O my infinitely lovable God,
and I would rather die loving You,
than live without loving You.

I love You, Lord
and the only grace I ask is to love You eternally...

My God, if my tongue cannot say in every moment that I love You,
I want my heart to repeat it to You as often as I draw breath.
